Symptomatic left ventricular dysfunction is the most common clinical presentation of cardiomyopathy and is potentially life threatening. Identifying the cause is critical as it dictates therapy.\n\nMethods: We present three cases of left ventricular failure suggestive of myocarditis in SLE patients followed in the Lupus Clinic of the Montreal General Hospital over a 5-year period.\n\nResults:

The most frequent presentation is acute onset of a marked reduction of the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). All patients were treated with cardiac support, prednisone, and additional immunosuppressive medications. Improvement of symptoms and LVEF was observed in two of three patients.\n\nConclusion: Myocarditis is a rare, but life-threatening, manifestation of SLE. Typically, laser speckle contrast imaging is performed using scientific-grade Copanlisib PI3K/Akt/mTOR inhibitor instrumentation. However, due to recent advances in camera technology,

these expensive components may not be necessary to produce accurate images. In this paper, we demonstrate that a consumer-grade webcam can be used to visualize changes in flow, both in a microfluidic flow phantom and in vivo in a mouse model. A two-camera setup was used to simultaneously image with a high performance monochrome CCD camera and the webcam for direct comparison. The webcam was also tested with inexpensive aspheric lenses and a laser pointer for a complete low-cost, compact setup ($90, 5.6 cm length, 25 g). “Kinetic modeling of enzymolysis of pulp fiber waste pretreated by a wet oxidation process was studied. First, a wet oxidation pretreatment of fiber waste was carried out. It was found that hemicellulose were removed efficiently, yielding material with a pentosan content of 4% (based on the o. d. biomass). A statistical kinetic model was developed based on the experimental results of the enzymatic hydrolysis of wet oxidation pretreated material.
